1v1 Two-Dribble Limit
Live 1v1 from the top with a two-dribble limit. The constraint forces the offensive player to attack decisively and get to an efficient shot without wasted dribbles.
Instructions
- Offense starts at the top with the ball; defender starts in stance
- Offense has a two-dribble maximum to create a shot
- Any score counts; rebounds are live
Coaching Points
- Use a decisive move to gain advantage (no wasted dribbles)
- Defender closes the paint, stays between the ball and the rim, and squares up to contest the shot.
Variations
- Start from the wing or corner
- Start the defender from a disadvantage position (e.g. on the side)
- Allow paint shots only
Want this in your own library, with your coaching points on it? Building a drill library you'll actually reuse covers what to write down so a drill still works next season.
