Corner Drift and Stagger Exit Team Shooting
Team shooting drill with two types of shot: one player works into a stagger-exit catch at the top, while another fills the corner for a catch-and-shoot. The drill trains timing, passing accuracy, relocation, and game-speed shot preparation.
Instructions
- Form one line on the left side and one line on the right side, as shown. Use at least 4 balls
- Player 1 attacks the basket and kicks out to the opposite corner, where Player 2 relocates
- After the kick-out, Player 1 sprints through the stagger-exit action to the top
- Each player gets their own rebound and joins the line on the opposite side
- Change side after a while
Coaching Points
- Attack the paint under control and make the kick-out pass on time and on target
- On the corner shot, drift into position and arrive ready to shoot with the legs loaded
- On the stagger exit, sprint into the catch, set the feet, and establish balance before shooting
Variations
- Make the kick-out pass directly off the dribble
- Move the shots to the high post and short corner
