1v1 Difficult Catch Finish

A 1v1 finishing drill that starts with a cut, a difficult catch, and pressure from a defender in the paint. The offensive player secures the ball, controls the body, and finishes at the rim.

Instructions

1. - Set one offensive player as the cutter
2. - Place one defender in the paint
3. - Place one passer with the ball
4. - The passer throws the ball up to create a difficult catch
5. - The offensive player cuts, catches, and attacks the finish
6. - Change roles after 5 reps

Coaching Points

• Secure the ball before finishing
• Land balanced before the shot
• Finish through pressure without drifting away from the rim

• Finish with a stop before the shot
• Finish without a stop
• Set a dribble limit: no dribble or 1 dribble
